Theme-Centered-Interaction (TCI)
is an attitude developed by Ruth C. Cohn and a method that takes communication and collaboration in groups to a new level. For lively learning, mindful leadership and human interaction.
This is TCI
Posture
TCI helps people to mindful, self-responsible and respectful with themselves and others – at work and in everyday life.
Method
TCI helps to organize groups and learning processes in such a way that all participants are actively, equally and personally involved with head, heart and hand.
Sustainable
TCI always includes the “I”, the “we”, the “it” and the globe in other words, the individual, the community and the common concern. This ensures genuine dialog and sustainable learning.
TCI briefly explained
Find your way with TCI
“I’m a teacher and I want to have more of a relationship with my students. TCI has helped me not only to teach, but also to facilitate real encounters.”
Maria R., secondary school teacher
“I lead a team – but sometimes I lack the attitude I would like to have. With TCI, I have learned to understand leadership as an invitation to shared responsibility.”
Daniel M., Team Leader
“I’m studying social work and really want to understand how groups work. TCI has shown me how much attitude and method belong together.”
Leila S., student
“I do research on educational topics – and TCI combines theory and practice in a special way. The combination of scientific depth and real contact always impresses me.”
Dr. Michael K., educational researcher
“I am socially engaged and look for ways to resolve conflicts constructively. For me, TCI is a practice of dialog that remains viable even in difficult situations.”
Aylin T., political activist
Learn TCI
What you learn in the offers & seminars
TCI seminars
The individual seminars are open to all interested parties and can be or become part of the Training. It is generally possible to join the methods and personality courses without any prior knowledge. All other seminars require the TCI Certificate or initial knowledge of TCI.
Method courses (M1-3)
The method courses focus on the experience and cognitive penetration of TCI methodology and didactics. In theory and reflected experience, you will deal with the tools of TCI group leadership and the practical significance of the Axiomes and Postulates.
After consultation with the respective course leader, individual methods courses can also be credited as in-depth courses for Advanced Training.
Personality courses (P)
Personality courses are about conscious personal development.
They are set in the context of the individual, social responsibility and professional activity.
The Advanced Training Courses A1- A3, Crisis Courses and Supervision Courses already require a certain level of familiarity with TCI and are part of the Advanced Training.

"I want to encourage people who do not want all this suffering not to resign and feel powerless, but to use their powers of imagination and agency to explain and act in solidarity as long as we still feel autonomous forces within ourselves. - That is what I really want with TCI."

TCI in society
Our society is facing major challenges: Polarization, exhaustion, speechlessness – in schools, leadership, politics and everyday life.
Theme-Centered-Interaction (TCI) offers an answer: a dialogical attitudethat tolerates differences, promotes responsibility and shapes relationships.
Where TCI works
In educationfor lively, relationship-oriented learning
In leadership: for teams that build on trust and participation
In social work & counseling: for real encounters instead of mere function
In social commitment: for dialog at eye level – even in conflicts
TCI strengthens people in to act consciously – with themselves, with others and in the world.
Not perfect, but alive. Not rigid, but flexible. Not from above, but in relationship.
